BDARS Re-Launches Web Service
Welcome to the new BDARS.org.
If you have been a regular visitor to BDARS.org over the last couple of years, you will by now have noticed a change in the look and feel of the site, hopefully you will like the new layout, Please let us know ether way by mailing webmaster at the above domain - your feedback is important to us !
The BDARS.org site has been redesigned for a couple of reasons.
Firstly. The old design has been in use for over two years and, while we loved it, it was starting to look a bit tired.
Secondly, we wanted to address a couple of problems with the old site as well as with Amateur radio sites in general, that of accessibility for those with disabilities.
A quick survey of Amateur sites (Including those of our management and masters) shows that most are not accessible for readers with vision impairment or users of Vision Impaired Browsers or by people that require browsers to display large fonts or to screen scrape – basically, they only work for Internet Explorer on a standard computer.
BDARS have made every effort to comply with the new UK Disabilities Discrimination Act, the ADA US 508 standards and to best practice guides for modern Web systems and at this time we think were 90% there.
We look forward to continuing to serve the Amateur community with up to date relevant stories (not just mass junk) and with more innovative systems like the new Online Foundation Mock Exam (See link on the left to get to the Foundation Pages).
Thanks for your continued support.
